The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been awarded a 1-star rating by Global NCAP. The car scored 20.86/34 points for adult occupant protection and 28.57/49 points for child occupant protection. In the frontal impact test, the Ciaz offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection, and the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. The driver’s knees showed marginal protection, while the passenger’s knees showed good protection. The footwell area and bodyshell were rated as unstable. In the side impact test, the head and pelvis showed good protection, the abdomen showed adequate protection, and the chest showed weak protection. The side pole impact test was not performed. Child seats for the 3-year-old and 18-month-old dummies were able to prevent head exposure, offering full protection in the frontal impact test. The test car was equipped with dual front airbags, seatbelt reminder, seatbelt pretensioner and load limiter, and ESC.
