Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to enter the highly competitive midsize SUV segment with a new model based on the modular NU IQ platform. It’s likely to be the production version of the Mahindra Vision S concept, which was showcased on 15th August 2025 alongside the Vision T, Vision S and Vision SXT. Touted as a ‘baby Scorpio’, the Vision S concept features upright and bold stance with off-road-inspired design elements.
What have spy images revealed?

Mahindra Vision S has now entered its testing phase, as a heavily camouflaged prototype was recently spotted on public roads. The test mule sports Mahindra’s signature grille with vertically-stacked slats, circular headlamps with integrated LED DRLs similar to those seen on the Thar Roxx. Similar to the concept, the test vehicle also has a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Other highlights include rectangular fog lamp assembly, a radar module integrated on the lower grille, pronounced wheel arches, large wheels, flush door handles, flat door panels, rectangular rear quarter glass, rectangular vertically positioned taillamps and a flat roof.
Interior & Features
Spy images confirm that the production-ready Mahindra Vision S will offer a panoramic sunroof; however, it could be reserved for the top variants. Several elements and features from the concept could be retained including a dual screen setup, a new three-spoke dual-tone steering wheel, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-tone dashboard, door trims and seat upholstery.
ICE & EV Options
Mahindra’s new NU IQ platform supports multiple powertrain options including ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrains. Initially, the production-ready Mahindra Vision S could be offered with petrol and diesel engine options, while an electric version might join the lineup at a later stage.
Expected Launch Timeline
As now, there is no official word on its launch timeline. However, the production-ready Vision S SUV is expected to hit Indian roads sometime in 2027.
