Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha asserted that she was the true voice of the people of Telangana and categorically rejected allegations that she is being operated from behind by someone.
While acknowledging that mistakes were committed during the BRS regime, she accepted moral responsibility for the period she was part of the party and apologised to the people wherever injustice had occurred.
Strongly criticizing the RRR project, Ms. Kavitha alleged that road alignments are being changed repeatedly to protect the lands of influential individuals, while poor farmers are being pushed into distress. She pointed out that despite High Court orders, alignments continue to be altered due to corruption. Jagruthi will launch an online movement on this issue and organise a round table meeting with affected farmers in Hyderabad on January 5.
Highlighting irrigation failures, she said that not even a single drop of water has reached farmers through the Baswapur reservoir under the Pranahita–Chevella project, despite massive land acquisition. She demanded immediate completion of canals, fair compensation to displaced farmers and strict accountability of officials.
