Took my Kia EV6 for servicing and paid Rs 17,000 for it: My experience BHPian shankar.balan recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Servicing the Kia EV6Just penning down the experience. Yes, this is typically an ‘once-a-year affair’ and I personally don’t like to take any shortcuts on this. I follow the ‘time’ interval method rather than the kilometres run. However, with this EV6, from now on, I am hoping to do more kilometres. The workTyre balancing and wheel rotation, and wheel alignment – an essential step because they have all the right software and can do the settings right. After all, it is an AWD and does need that extra care. OBD Scan:It shows battery SOH at 100% even now and the ICCU Software update and steering reset etc have been done. Software was updated in October before I got the car but they hadn’t opened a job card and closed it since it was done internally at VST. So the Epitome chaps checked and spoke to the VST chaps in front of me and then updated this job card so that all the records are straight. Cabin/ AC filter change:These are paper filters and are expensive because they are imported from South Korea. The Cabin Filter is costly at about Rs 4590/- A pair of Wiper Blades is expensive at about 4500-ish. Labour charges are about 5000/- in keeping with a premium car. Kia RSA is 1800/- and I think it offers peace of mind. Basic consumables are fairly priced. And they use authentic Kia products. Brakes check and lube up and clean up, along with the DOT4 Fluid check – condition of the discs is clean and there are no scratches and scoring. Pads are also sufficiently thick and clean. It is simply amazing how much wear and tear is reduced by the use of regenerative braking. Main Battery pink coolant top up. Aux Battery check – good health, they say. It’s the OE Delker Battery. General Checkup – no issues. The underbody is absolutely clean and fully covered, hence well protected. And yesterday, the good ground clearance helped a lot in navigating those bad speed breakers and potholes. The service cost approx Rs 17000/-. I know this may be considered extravagant but I’m ok with it for this time. I am well aware I can buy aftermarket filters and wiper blades but I chose not to for now. I am not begrudging this expense because I like to pamper my car(s). And ‘Tis the Season and the Epitome Kia folks in Whitefield looked after my car very well. Also, considering the drop in the rupee against the dollar, the prices of all imported parts are higher. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
