Kawasaki introduced the 2026 Ninja 650 across global markets starting from September this year. And now, the updated version has been launched in India as well. The bike has received some India-specific updates such as E20 compliance. Let’s check out more details about the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650.
2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 – What’s new?
Launched at a price tag of Rs 7.91 lakh (Ex-sh), 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 retains its signature Lime Green colour, but gets more refined graphics. These come in blue and white colours and are placed across the fuel tank and side fairing. This colour combination is easy on the eyes, while also enhancing the bike’s sporty presence. The price hike over 2025 model is Rs 14,000.
In comparison, the 2025 Ninja 650 utilizes a Lime Green/Ebony/Pearl Blizzard White colourway. It has its own charm, but the updated graphics on the 2026 Ninja 650 feel a lot better. Another visual update is the absence of rim stripes on the 2026 Ninja 650. The 2025 model has green colour rim stripes, which enhance the bike’s sporty flair. With the 2026 version, the focus is more on highlighting the bike’s core design aesthetics.
Apart from the new graphics, there are no other styling updates for the 2026 Ninja 650. Key features include twin LED headlights, a heavily raked windshield, polygonal rear-view mirrors, sculpted fuel tank, split seats and an underbelly exhaust. In India, the 2026 Ninja 650 is available in only one colour option. Across global markets, enthusiasts have more colourways to choose from.
For context, the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 in the United States is available in four colour options. In addition to the Lime Green, there are Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Carbon Gray, Metallic Matte Whitish Silver/Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Yellowish Green/Metallic Spark Black colour options.
E20 compliance – Revised power and torque
2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 uses the same 649 cc engine as earlier. However, this engine is now E20 compliant. One can also notice that the power and torque figures have been slightly revised with the 2026 Ninja 650. Onboard the 2025 model, the liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine is rated to deliver 50.2 kW (68 PS) and 64 Nm of torque. This has been reduced to 48.8 kW (66.35 PS) and 62.1 Nm with the 2026 Ninja 650. Other specs such as engine RPM, gear ratios and transmission remain unchanged.
Most other features of the 2026 Ninja 650 are the same as the 2025 model. The bike has a 4.3-inch digital TFT colour instrumentation, which ensures a premium cockpit experience. There can be some minor updates in the TFT functionalities with the 2026 Ninja 650, but much of it is the same as earlier. The TFT instrument has Bluetooth, allowing users to access a range of connected features via Kawasaki’s RIDEOLOGY THE APP.
Other features that have been carried over include the KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), Assist & Slipper clutch, dual throttle valves, economical riding indicator and dual-channel ABS. Kawasaki Ninja 650 primarily rivals the Honda CBR650R in India. The latter is priced higher at Rs 11.16 lakh.
