

SUVs are all the rage these days in India, sidelining all other vehicle formats like hatchbacks, sedans and even MPVs. Owing to their size, practicality, ground clearance and desirability factor, SUVs are emerging as popular options and OEMs are lining up with new SUVs to cater this demand. Here are all the popular SUVs launching in 2026.


1. Mahindra XUV7XO
Starting life as XUV500, Mahindra’s flagship SUV then became the revolutionary XUV700 and now, it will be renamed XUV7XO. It will feature a new fascia along with an all-new interior featuring a triple screen dashboard for the first time along with a major bump in features and creature comforts, while it retains both of its engines (2.0L Petrol and 2.2L Diesel).


2. Kia Seltos 2nd Gen
The 2nd Gen Kia Seltos has been unveiled and the media drives have happened, but prices of this new SUV are still under wraps. Kia India will launch new Seltos on January 2nd, 2026. With 2026 SeltosKia has made it the longest in segment, featuring a major bump in width and even wheelbase. Interiors have been overhauled as well, while engines are retained.


3 & 4. Maruti eVitara & Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
Maruti Suzuki eVitara will spawn a Toyota counterpart too. It is unveiled and named Urban Cruiser EV, featuring a unique fascia and lighting signatures. Both vehicles will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant. eVitara has made public appearances and the media drives have happened as well, but pricing and launch date are still under wraps.


5 & 6. Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol
Tata Motors now has a new 1.5L 4-cylinder Petrol engine offered in Naturally Aspirated and Turbocharged configs in Sierra. Only the Turbo Petrol has made its way to Harrier and Safari. They have been unveiled and media drives have happened too, but the launch will happen soon. Harrier and Safari Petrol also debuted a new top-spec Accomplished Ultra trim level.


7 & 8. Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton
The C SUV from Renault and Nissan alliance is finally nearing a grand launch in India. Renault will launch the Duster and Nissan’s version will be called Tekton with a unique design of its own. Renault has en event lined up on January 26th and Nissan soon after. Multiple powertrains will be offered and even Hybrid and AWD configs will be offered at a later date.


9. Tata Sierra EV
After launching the Sierra ICE SUV in the country, Tata Motors has made a huge comeback in the 4.2m to 4.4m SUV space after Curvv. Like Curvv, Sierra will spawn an electric version called Sierra EVfeaturing a unique fascia of its own, as shown in Sierra TVC. While battery specs are not revealed, Sierra EV could share Harrier EV’s powertrains and probably even a dual-motor AWD version.


10 & 11. Tata Punch Facelift & Punch EV Facelift
Tata Punch is one of India’s best-selling vehicles and an absolute rockstar for the brand. The company is launching a facelift for Punch ICEwhich has been spied testing multiple times in India. However, Tata has just confirmed that Punch EV facelift is also coming in 2026. Punch ICE will feature a major change to its exteriors and interiors, while Punch EV facelift will feature minor revisions.


12 & 13. Skidaaaqaqeaq Food & VWune Food Fewered
Spawning out of INDIA 2.0 strategy and MQB A0 IN platform, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are getting a much-needed facelift. While design revisions are expected to be small, there will be a big change to equipment list. Expected new features include 360-degree cameras, ADAS, panoramic sunroof and many. Launch might be in H1 2026.


14. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
Scorpio brand is currently Mahindra’s best-selling nameplate and Mahindra is on the verge of facelifting Scorpio N SUV. Test mules have been spied multiple times in India. Design changes are expected to be minimal, while there could be a major bump and overhaul on the inside to make this mid-size SUV more desirable.


15. MG Majestor
Unveiled at 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, MG Majestor is still not launched even though we are at the fag end of 2025. Now, speculations suggest a launch in 2026 for this SUV. Majestor will be positioned above Gloster and it features a new design language, spruced up interiors along with a triple locking differentials to boost its off-road credentials.


16. Mahindra Vision S
Unveiled at Mahindra’s Freedom NU event, Vision S is a sub 4m SUV which has been spied testing multiple times in India for a long time now. It will be the first to launch, before Vision T, Vision X and Vision SXT. Speculations suggest it could bear the Scorpio name when launched and may come with features like independent rear suspension and more.


17. Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift
Brezza is currently on the verge of getting a facelift. Testing has commenced and test mule instances have increased. Recently, Brezza CNG test mule was spied testing and speculations suggest it could pack an underbody CNG tank to liberate usable boot space. While external design revisions are likely to be less, there might be a bump in features and equipment.


18. Mahindra Thar Facelift
2025 Mahindra Thar was launched in October this year and featured a few quality of life updates. However, there is another update awaited to Thar and this time, it will also bring a faceliftwith design elements taken from Thar Roxx. These include Thar Roxx’s grille, LED headlights with LED DRLs, alloy wheels (could be 19-inchers) and others.


19. Hyundai Fronx Rival
There is a new Hyundai SUV spotted testing in India, which has made some buzz in the country. While it doesn’t have a name as of now, it is speculated to be a direct rival to Maruti Suzuki Fronx, positioned below Venue. It might even offer the 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine option, something which Exter currently does not.


20. Mahindra XUV3XO EV
There have been multiple test mule sightings of XUV3XO THISbut it has not seen the light of day even at the fag end of 2025. It bears the same sub 4m size of XUV3XO and offer similar plush interiors which is also feature-loaded. XUV3XO EV’s 310 Nm torque will be its highlight, even sidelining most rival 4.2m to 4.4m Electric SUVs.
