As a son, I’ll take pride in my father’s achievements: KTR

Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy whether a son would not get angry if somebody abuses his (KTR’s) father, who had fought for the statehood of Telangana, achieved it and elected twice as the Chief Minister by people.

“If a son can’t take pride in the achievements of his father, who else would. In case Mr. Revanth Reddy does any good work, his children will take pride or else they would hesitate to take his name”, Mr. Rama Rao said after admitting a few Congress leaders of the Serilingamaplly constituency into BRS here on Friday.

Several Congress leaders, including Mr. Revanth Reddy, were asking BRS chief and Leader of the Opposition K. Chandrasekhar Rao to attend the Assembly. Mr. Reddy was sweating just with one press conference by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and if he attended the Assembly, the CM would get unsettled, Mr. Rama Rao claimed.

Referring to Mr. Revanth Reddy’s comments that he (KTR) had pursued his Intermediate in Guntur, Mr. Rama Rao sought to know what was wrong in it. He studied at Pune and in the US too. The Chief Minister, who is finding fault with his (KTR’s) education in Guntur, had married off his daughter to a Andhra (Bhimavaram) person, Mr. Rama Rao said.

On Mr. Reddy’s ‘abusive’ language against Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Rama Rao said he too would know such language but was holding back, respecting the Chief Minister’s chair. “I could use such abusive language in Urdu, Hindi, Telangana and English, if need be,” Mr. Rama Rao said. While condemning the abusive language, Mr. Rama Rao said he too could say that he felt like hitting the CM with footwear but refrain from making such comments.
