According to a media report, Toyota is set to discontinue the Innova Crysta next year. The popular MPV is expected to be phased out around March 2027. Toyota had initially planned to phase out the Innova Crysta in 2025, but instead decided to extend its production even after the introduction of the Innova Hycross. However, with stricter emission norms on the horizon, the days of a heavy, ladder-frame diesel MPV like the Crysta are numbered. To meet the tougher CAF norms, Toyota will be pushing its hybrid models, which will benefit from ‘super credits’ under the new rules. The Innova has been the segment leader for years and the most popular MPV among individual buyers and fleet operators alike. Today, the Innova Crysta is only offered with a 2.4-litre diesel engine. It produces 148 BHP and 343 Nm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Whereas the Innova Hycross is petrol-only, with the option of a hybrid. Source:Autocar India
