I’ve been servicing my 5th Gen Honda City 2021 ZX MT Petrol model with Maansarovar Honda for the past 3 years. I just completed the 3rd year service a couple of weeks back. I thought that this will be the best time to write a detailed review of the Service from Maansarover Honda Porur.
It is often in moments of dire need of help or when facing challenges that we truly understand the value of trust. These experiences deepen our connections and reinforce our belief in the goodness of humanity. In this case the ability and professionalism of Mr. Bhaskar, the service head of Maansarover Honda. This is the story of how Maansarover Honda earned my trust through Mr. Bhaskar and the various SAs and staff.
The Big reason to choose Maansarover Honda:
I’d bought my car from a different dealer in 2021 February who was nearer to my home. Did the first month service also with the same dealer. Was very disappointed. They took more than half a day to give the car back. The SA tried really hard to sell value added services to me. I’d bought HCMP (Honda Care Maintenance Pack) AMC as well, and this could have been a reason for hard sell of value added services. And generally response was not enthusiastic. So I decided to look for a different service center.
Since Covid was still a big thing during this time, I started calling up different dealerships. I wanted to talk to the service head of dealerships to a sense of the service experience. And boy it was pretty difficult to get ahold of service heads of the first two dealerships that I tried. To be fair Covid made things difficult indeed. And when I asked if they will help me in small things like my doubts about choosing accessories, concealing the wiring of a dashcam they simply lost all interest. They were only enthused that I’m moving from the dealership that I bought my car and were not really interested in solving my small issues.
And this is where Maansarover Honda’s Mr. Bhaskaran really won me over. He took time to explain to me all the small things that I’d my doubts on, like seat covers (Which he rightly rejected due to airbags, but I simply was not aware). This inspired confidence and took my car to Maansarover Honda for the six months service. And boy was I surprised, I got my car in at around 9 AM and got back my car by 12 PM. The car came back clean and most importantly SA did not try to sell any value added service. I was delighted and decided to stick with Maansarovar Honda.
Warranty Claim 1:
Soon the rear passenger seat-belt buckle receptacle was not locking in the seat buckle my car. When I took the car, Mr.Bhaskaran personally came to see my car and a technician took a video of the receptacle malfunction. The next day I was called again to the service center to get the new receptacle fixed. Maansarovar and Honda had fixed the issue quickly.
1st, and 2nd year services:
Both these services also went by smoothly. I’d give the car for service around 9 AM and get my car around 1PM just before lunchtime. I was always made welcome during my wait by the courteous staff of Maansarovar Honda and Mr. Bhaskaran will come chat-up on things about the car and update on the service progress. I have bought my insurance for the year through Maansarovar Honda every year. I always will speak to the body shop manager to get know the about the Insurer who is easy for them to work with and flexible and quick in processing claims. Usually this will be a list of 2-3 companies. I’ll get quotes from these companies and buy the one which provide the highest Tariff discount. There has been no hassles or extra wait times for me during billing or otherwise due to HCMP. Services experience has always been very smooth.
The 3rd year Service:
The 3rd year service too went smoothly. I renewed my insurance. However, during a routine check of OBD a few DTCs were detected for the rear parking sensor system. During service they cleared it and these DTCs did not appear again. This service happened a couple of weeks back. So I took delivery of the vehicle and went home. A bit of a surprise was in store.
Warranty claim 2:
A day or two after the 3rd year service, I started to get the rear parking system failure error on dashboard console. At the same time, our driver reported that there is a mild Tak-tak sound from the steering when turning just a few degrees, and not while making big turns. Also, the driver reported that while height adjusting the driver seat some noise was observed. I was a bit taken back and rung up Mr. Bhaskaran and the SA Mr. Dinesh Kumar. They asked me to bring the car to the service center. In the service center Mr. Dinesh immediately acknowledged the steering sound, seat height adjustment sound and the rear parking sensor error. I also added another problem that the horn was sounding weak after a using it a few times in a row. After discussing with Mr.Bhaskar, I was told to leave the car with them for a few days for them to shoot videos and share with Honda and get approvals for warranty claims. I left feeling low that despite Honda reliability I’m getting these troubles. Mr. Dinesh though kept me updated twice a day on the progress. When I got to know that Honda has agreed to replace parts of the steering gear and things to fix steering noise and replace the entire rear parking system and sensors, I was relieved. After testing the driver seat height adjustment sound with a few other cars Honda ruled that this was normal. The Horn issue was also fixed. Please see the invoice attached. The part shipment was expected to take a few days, but Maansarovar and Honda managed to get it in just 2 days and Maansarovar Honda fixed all issues in quick time and delivered the car. They also identified and fixed a few rattling issues. Now the car is butter smooth.
Why I recommend Maansarovar and Honda?
1. Product quality: If the car manufacturer ensures higher quality of the product, there will be very few instances of misses like in my case. This will result in service personnel handling things smoothly.
2. Service centers should take the lead in fixing problems: When service centers take the lead and push the technical engineers of the car manufacturer and and are prepared first time with all answers, then time is not wasted and customers get great service.
3. The Service center head: When a service head supports his frontline technicians, spends time with customers explaining things, this takes pressure off frontline workers. This results in greater customer service.
I’ll whole heartedly recommend Maansarovar Honda. Mr.Bhaskar has become a goto expert for buying another Honda car in Bangalore now.
