All-New Honda Amaze Debut In December; Launch In Jan 2025

The new-generation Honda Amaze, which was earlier scheduled to launch during the 2024 festive season, is now reported to arrive early next year. However, the sedan’s third-generation model will debut in December 2024. Major changes are expected to be made to its underpinning, exterior, and interior, while the engine setup might remain the same.

Similar to the current generation, the new Honda Amaze will derive power from a 1.2L, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The motor, paired with a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 90 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. There will be no diesel engine option.

The original silhouette and design will remain unchanged, though the new Amaze will incorporate some design elements from the globally sold Honda sedans. Most of its interior upgrades will be inspired by the Elevate midsize SUV, such as a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity and more.

In other updates, Honda is working on an all-new PF2 platform that will be used for the brand’s future SUVs, smaller EVs, and the new-generation City sedan. The new modular architecture will support multiple powertrains, including hybrid and electric. The Japanese automaker is also developing an all-new three-row SUV that will be designed and developed by Honda’s Japan and Thailand R&D centers, with input from Honda Cars India.

The upcoming Honda 7-seater SUV is likely to share its powertrain with the Elevate (a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine) and a strong hybrid powertrain with the City. If reports are to be believed, the new Honda three-row SUV will enter production in October 2027. This new SUV will be followed by the new-generation Honda City, which is likely to witness significant design changes. The all-new City might enter production in May 2028.

Honda will also introduce a new compact SUV based on the PF2 platform, slated to launch in the first half of 2029. The model is likely to fall under the sub-4-meter category and might share its components with the Elevate. It could be powered by Honda’s 1.5L petrol engine.
