Karimnagar: A sixth class student died, while two others were hospitalised after reporting severe stomach pain at Peddapur Gurukul Residential School in Metpally mandal of Jagtial district on Friday.
According to the District Superintendent of Police Uma Maheshwar Rao, all three students are studying in sixth class. The student, Anirudh, resident of Yellareddypet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district suddenly fell ill in the early morning at around 3 am and despite the caretaker’s immediate decision to shift the boy to the Jagtial government hospital, he died on the way.
Later that morning, at around 7 am, two more students identified as Mokshit and Hemanth Yadav complained of severe stomach pain.
Reacting immediately, the school authorities shifted them to Nizamabad and Metpally government hospitals respectively.
Police reached the school and conducted an inquiry with the students and staff. The reason behind the death and illness of the students is yet to be known. A case was registered and the investigation is underway.
