Hang Zhu: Golfer Aditi Ashok of Karnataka has won a historic medal in the ongoing 19th Asian Games here. He won the silver medal in the golf final match held on Sunday morning.
Bengaluru’s Aditi Ashok became the first Indian woman athlete to win a medal in the sport of golf at the Asian Games.
Aditi Ashok started the game with a 7-stroke lead. He had a good chance of winning gold. But he suffered setbacks in the last two or three strokes and settled for second place. Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol won the gold medal.
Aditi Ashok, who grabbed the country’s attention by finishing 4th in the Tokyo Olympics, has now won a silver medal.
