Overall, extremely satisfied with Hyundai Ioniq 5 build quality & Hyundai RSA. Cant imagine what could have happened if it was any other car.

Had first major accident of my life yesterday in Ioniq 5. This was during our return journey from Indore to Panvel. On a downward slope nearby shirpur checkpost i slowed down my vehicle for rumbler strip. A truck who was following us from behind tried to brake but his right rear tyre burst. This resulted in truck smashing into back of ioniq. Ioniq lunged forward couple of feet. At this time car was packed with luggage, all seats occupied & with one infant. All we felt was a large thud & some jerks. Another point to add is that all occupants were wearing seatbelt’s. There was one truck parked on the side of road in front of us & front right slightly touched.
Rear of the car was badly damaged & we parked car on the side of the road. The truck that hit us tried to flee, since checkpost was just in front & was already jammed. The truck couldn’t get past before some passerby bikers stopped that truck. A police patrol vehicle also arrived on spot in couple of minutes. They took note of incident, asked if we wanted to press charges. We asked them to preapre panchnama for insurance purpose, I went to police station with them & truck driver. They were extremely helpful & after panchnama they dropped me off to accident place.
Now comes another ordeal, since we were stuck in middle of nowhere with nearest city 100 kms away, i called my insurance provider Acko, have to say they are extremely unhelpful & useless. Towing is free only till 40km & no taxi service for occupents. Second option was to call Hyundai RSA, they were top notch. Arranged custody person in couple of hours, taxi was provided for travel to Nashik (100kms were free, remaining we paid), flat bed truck was arranged to take vehicle to Nashik Service center.
Overall, extremely satisfied with Hyundai Ioniq 5 build quality & Hyundai RSA. Cant imagine what could have happened if it was any other car.
Would encourage everyone to opt for safer cars. It does save lives.
