Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal (left) and comedian Kunal Kamra (right) engaged in a war of words over Ola EV backlog.
‘Come to the service centre… I will pay better than your flop shows pay you,’ quipped Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal in response to comedian Kunal Kamra’s criticism of the company’s EV backlog.
Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra have sparked a war of words on X (formerly Twitter), following Kamra’s concerns about the state of Ola’s electric scooter service centres. The exchange began when Aggarwal posted a picture of the Ola Gigafactory with a heart emoji, tagging Ola’s Business Head, Vishal Chaturvedi. Kamra quoted this post and shared a picture showing a large number of Ola scooters parked outside an Ola building, gathering dust.
In the caption, he wrote, “Do Indian consumers have a voice? Do they deserve this? Two-wheelers are many daily wage workers’ lifeline… Nitin Gadkari, is this how Indians will get to using EVs? Consumer Affairs, any word? Anyone who has an issue with OLA Electric leave your story below tagging all….”
This started a “never-ending” verbal spat between the two. In response, Aggarwal sarcastically asked Kamra to “help” with the situation, offering to pay him “more than his failed comedy career”. The Ola CEO also assured that the company is working to resolve the service centre “backlogs” soon.
“Since you care so much Kunal Kamra, come and help us out! I’ll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career. Or else sit quiet and let us focus on fixing the issues for the real customers. We’re expanding the service network fast and backlogs will be cleared soon,” Aggarwal fired back in response to Kamra’s post.

Kamra responded by sharing a clip from one of the comedy shows, where the audience erupted in cheers as he opened for Varun Grover. He captioned the video, “On my failed comedy career here’s a clip from last year when I surprised an audience & opened for Grover…,” adding, “Anything else you arrogant, substandard, prick Bhavish Aggarwal.”
Aggarwal mockingly replied, “Chot lagi? Dard hua?” He again invited Kamra to help at the Ola service centre, noting there’s plenty of work to do. Aggarwal added, “I’ll pay better than your flop shows pay you. Show your audience how much you truly care and whether you’re only gas and BS.”

“Show your customers that you truly care,” Kamra remarked, adding, “Instead can you give a total refund to anyone who wants to return their OLA EV & who’s purchased it in the last 4 months? I don’t need your money people not being able to get to their workplace need your accountability.”
“We have enough programs for our customers if they face service delays. If you were a genuine one, you would have known. Again, don’t try and back out of this. Come and do some real work rather than armchair criticism,” Ola CEO reiterated.

“So you can’t offer a 100 per cent refund to people who have purchased your OLA in the last 4 months who are genuine customers. But you want to pay me who’s not a customer,” Kamra wrote.
He even gave a few refund options: “Can you do an 85 per cent refund for 1/ 2 months? Can you do a 75 per cent refund for 3 months? Can you do 65 per cent for 4 months?”
Kamra even offered to “compile a list of genuine customers to initiate the refund process”, adding, “their delight will be enough to pay me.”
“Comedian ban na sake, chaudhary banne chale,” is what Aggarwal wrote in response to Kamra’s post where he gave a few refund options and offered to “compile a list of genuine customers” for the same. He added, “Do your research better next time. And the offer to come and help us out in our service center remains open. Take up the challenge. Maybe you’ll learn some real skills for a change.”

Kamra then gave a deadline to Aggarwal to fix the issues and clear backlogs. “Ok Ola customers Refund is out of the question… So, can you solve issues of every Ola complaint till date before 10th November 2024? I can keep tract of unsolved complaints post 10th November & Keep them public for you.”
