The same goal has persisted since the day Jagan came to power. The mission is to implicate Chandrababu Naidu in any case. A ministerial sub-committee was assembled to find ‘defects and shortcomings.’ ‘Insider trading in the land acquisition of Amaravati capital’ was alleged to be a scandal, but it did not hold up in court.
They also called it a scam in Skill Development Corporation, but nothing substantial was found. Now, after two years, notices are once again being issued to some others in the same case. As the elections approach, various stories are being concocted to tarnish Chandrababu’s reputation on the pretext of income tax department notices.
There is a daily fuss claiming that Chandrababu received donations of Rs. 119 crores from Shapoorji Pallonji’s organization, which has undertaken many projects in the state. Shapoorji Pallonji has made it clear that they did not provide any contributions to anyone.
However, it is noteworthy that Chandrababu was targeted by someone claiming to be the representative of that organization. The individual has just filed an official complaint stating that he was detained, mentally tortured, and forced to sign a statement.
In fact, Chandrababu had already responded to the notice from the IT department in 2022 on the same topic, and his argument was heard. Nevertheless, the IT department has recently started sending notices again in a rush, with CID also repeatedly writing letters to the IT department regarding the same issue.
There are suspicions are rising that the IT Department issued fresh notices to Chandrababu on the request of Chief Minister Jagan. The IT department alleges that Shapoorji Pallonji Company, which had undertaken numerous projects in AP during Chandrababu’s tenure, made the contributions. However, the IT department had accepted the income tax returns submitted by the company without raising any objections.
If there were any unaccounted or illegal payments from their accounts, they should have been detected there. But that did not happen. It is noteworthy that after four years, Chandrababu is now receiving notices claiming that he received contributions from Shapoorji Pallonji.
