The TDP has appointed in-charges for assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. TDP Chief Atchannaidu has issued orders appointing in-charges for the Kadapa and Prathipadu assembly constituencies. Madhavi Reddy has been selected as the in-charge for the Kadapa Assembly Constituency, while retired IAS officer B. Ramanjaneyulu will serve as the in-charge for the Prathipadu Constituency in Guntur district.
Additionally, AP TDP Chief Achchennaidu has appointed in-charges for the Guntur Parliament Prathipadu (SC) Constituency. B. Ramanjaneyulu, who retired from government service in June 2018, joined the TDP even after the party’s loss in the 2019 elections. Over the past year, he has served as the TDP’s official spokesperson, consistently voicing his opposition to the policies of the YS Jagan government.
Former Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha is running for re-election in Prathipadu. However, her victory this time may not come easily. During her tenure as Home Minister, the Jagan government clashed with Amaravati farmers, and despite this, Sucharitha did not visit the Amaravati farmers even after losing her cabinet post.
At one point, she attempted to join the TDP, but YS Jagan offered a position to her husband in the Machilipatnam port authority. This sets the stage for an intriguing contest in the SC constituency this time around.
