Easter attack: Catholic Church rejects Defense Ministry report


The Catholic Church of Sri Lanka has said that it cannot accept the statement issued by the Ministry of Defense denying the statement made by Channel 4 regarding the Easter Sunday attack.

In this regard, on behalf of the Catholic Church of Sri Lanka, Reverend Father Jude Crisantha Fernando participated in the press conference held yesterday morning (09) and said the above.

Contradiction in statement

At the same time, he pointed out that there are contradictions between the report of the Ministry of Defense and the presidential commission that investigated the Easter Sunday terror attack.

According to this, he mentioned that problems have arisen whether the victims of the Easter attack should accept the report of the Ministry of Defense or the report of the Presidential Commission.

Didn’t ask for punishment

“Suspects have been whitewashed. This is an attempt to correct them. Suresh Saleh was not asked to be hanged. Ex-President Gotabaya was not asked to be punished. They were not asked to be convicted.
