British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is in Delhi these days. He is on a visit to India to attend the G20 summit. During his India tour, Sunak will visit Akshardham temple today i.e. on Sunday. While talking to the media, he had said that he will go to Akshardham temple on Sunday. Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements for his visit to Akshardham temple. Police on Saturday said elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of his visit and investigation is underway.
Police officials said that security has been tightened in and around the temple. A senior police officer said that barricades have already been put up in the area, and investigation is being done in view of the G-20 summit. He said that adequate number of security personnel are being deployed for the visit of the British Prime Minister.
Let us tell you that before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Sunak on the sidelines of the G-20 summit on Saturday and discussed ways to deepen trade relations and promote investment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted after meeting with PM Rishi Sunak. He shared his photos with PM Sunak on Twitter and wrote, It was great to meet PM Rishi Sunak on the occasion of G20 summit in Delhi. We discussed ways to deepen trade ties and promote investment. India and Britain will continue to work for a prosperous and sustainable planet.
All countries need to come together on global issues
At the same time, while stating his priorities for the G-20 summit, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that all countries need to work together to solve global issues. Sunak said this in a video titled ‘Why am I in the G-20’. He said, frankly, global issues matter and we cannot do anything alone. We have seen this during the time of Covid. So it is right that we come together to fight climate change and Putin’s illegal war. The British Prime Minister further said, the G-20 and other summits provide a unique opportunity to talk face-to-face with leaders of other countries and address those issues. The decisions we take there will provide employment, development and security.
Sunak came to India on Friday
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived here on Friday (September 8) to participate in the G20 summit being held in Delhi. The two leaders held this meeting after the first session of the summit. Earlier, Sunak greeted Modi in a namaskar gesture upon reaching the venue.
Let us tell you that India and Britain are negotiating a free trade agreement, for which talks started in 2022. The 12th round of negotiations for the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) took place from August 8 to 31 this year. In August this year, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and UK Secretary of State for Trade Kemi Badenoch took stock of the FTA and agreed on ways to take the negotiations forward. The 13th round of talks is scheduled to take place in September.
