We have seen that fans can go to far lengths to defend their favorite celebrity. But sometimes it’s not even possible for them to defend their beloved stars. Fans of AR Rahman found themselves in a similar situation when the music composer faced huge backlash after one of his concerts in Chennai.
The incident is of Sunday, 10th of September, when the Oscar winning composer had to perform in a concert organized in Chennai. Not only did the show brought a huge traffic to a standstill causing problems for thousands but a huge number of people having tickets to the show were allegedly denied entry by the management.
The mismanagement angered a huge number of fans who alleged that they waited 4-5 hours in traffic only to be denied entry because the venue can’t accommodate anymore people. Questions are being raised about how the management did not know about the capacity they can entertain.
Some fans are alleging that even after buying tickets as expensive as ₹15K, there were no separate gates for entry, causing chaos. But those who bought the ticket were not the only ones upset about it. It is claimed that many non- concert goers were stranded in the traffic for hours. But the situation was not unprecedented and the Chennai Traffic Commissioner Office had issued a warning early in the day only.
