Allu Arjun is to make his comeback to the big screens after three years as Pushpa 2 has locked 15 August as its release date.
15 Aug(Thursday) is already a good date with national holiday – Independence Day. Then there’s the prospect of long weekend with the first Monda for the film at the box office being Raksha Bandhan holiday.
And that’s not all, the film enjoys another good Monday in its second weekend with the second Monday being a Janmashtami holiday.
Usually, films of any scale struggle at the first Monday where the drops are significant if the word of mouth is not up to the mark.
In the case of Pushpa 2, there’s the strongly persisting sequel advantage already and then, the first Monday is a holiday and so is the second Monday. If the film can put up a strongly positive word of mouth, then sky is the limit.
While these holidays might have only a marginal impact in the Telugu states, they will hugely help in the Hindi market. These vacant Mondays can do a world of good for Pushpa 2 if the word of mouth is good, and also, there is no mainstream Bollywood biggie arriving on this date.
