Mark Antony is a new film directed by Adhik Ravichandran starring Tamil action hero Vishal. This movie was released today. And let’s go to the review and find out how much this movie pleased the audience!
Story:
Chiranjeevi (Selva Raghavan) discovers a telephone machine that allows him to travel back in time. What is that telephone machine?, What are the rules of that phone?, What is the relationship between that phone and the lives of Mark (Vishal)- Antony (Senior Vishal)?, How did Mark bring his father Antony back to life with that phone?, in the middle What is the role of Jackie (S.J. Surya)?, and what is the role of Madhan?, what are the stories and twists that happened with that telephone that has the possibility to go back to the past and change the past? That is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
This film which is played in entertaining mode has some fun elements and good action scenes and some beautiful emotions. Especially Vishal – Surya’s characters, their cinematography and their getups and setup are good. Moreover, the time travel novelty in the movie is also good. More than anything else, this movie is very new in Vishal’s film career. Vishal has done a good job in this movie and has done a good job with his role. Especially with his body language, Vishal acted very well in some emotional and feel good sequences.
SJ Surya, who played the role of the villain, impressed with his performance and body ease. Ritu Verma, who played the heroine, did not have much scope. However, she has done full justice to her role. Selvaraghavan’s performance is also natural. Sunil, Abhinaya, Kingsley, YG Mahendran and also the rest of the cast have done well in the scope of their roles. So far we have seen many films in time back drop, but the taking and making style and comedy touch of this film is good.
Minus Points:
Although the background of this Mark Antony story, as well as the portrayal of the main characters, and the performance of the actors are good, the director Adhik Ravichandran fails to create interest in the story. Especially the repeated scenes in the track around the telephone machine have increased. Along with this, the conflicts and emotions between the characters were not worked out in the second half. Mark Antony disappoints at some places as the play proceeds with fake emotions around the illogical point.
Moreover, some of the main scenes in the flash back seem like a mellow drama. In addition to this, the characters are too large and the unnecessary discussion here and there for the sake of comedy is not up to the standard of the movie. Gripping narration is missing mainly in some lead scenes. Along with this, some action scenes were also routine. Overall, director Adhik Ravichandran has not been able to portray this Mark Antony in a fully impressive manner.
Technical Department:
Talking about technicians.. As mentioned earlier director Adhik Ravichandran’s take is good. However, they failed to write good content. His screenplay is not interesting. Music Director G.V. The music by Prakash Kumar is okay. But the background score of the second half is not impressive in some key scenes. Abhinandan Ramanujam’s cinematography work is very good. No more editor’s editing work. S. Vinod Kumar’s production values are very good.
In this time travel action entertainer called Mark Antony… Stylish making, some fun and action elements and Vishal – S.J. Surya’s acting are a plus for the movie. But, missing interesting elements in the first half, slow narration at some places, and boring scenes, regular and repeated scenes are the minuses of the movie. Overall, this Mark Antony movie will connect well with a certain audience.
