Samsung is usually criticized for not improving the charging speeds of its smartphones. While rivals from China offer up to 240W fast charging on their phones, Samsung is still stuck at 45W charging. It was rumored that the company may improve its charging speeds to 65W with the Galaxy S24, but you may be disappointed again.
Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra charging speeds haven’t improved
The Chinese variants of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra have passed the CCC certification process in China. As per the information in their certification documents, Samsung isn’t increasing charging speeds with its upcoming flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S24 (SM-S9210) features 25W fast charging (9V/2.77A), similar to the Galaxy S23. The Galaxy S24+ (SM-S9260) and the Galaxy S24 Ultra (SM-S9280) will be compatible with up to 45W fast charging (11V/4.05A).
So, it is almost certain that the Galaxy S24 series will not be able to charge faster than the Galaxy S23 series. All three models in the lineup may charge from 0-100% in around an hour. It has already been revealed that the Galaxy S24 has a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S24+ is powered by a 4,900mAh battery. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will use the same 5,000mAh battery as its predecessors.
Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra specifications
Depending on the country, the Galaxy S24 series will use the Exynos 2400 processor or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chip. Only China and the US may get access to the Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S24, while the other regions may get the Exynos 2400 versions of the phones. Samsung is expected to use 2,500-nit OLED screens on all Galaxy S24 models, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra might have a titanium body.
The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra will feature QHD+ LTPO 120Hz OLED displays, an IP68 rating, stereo speakers, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. They are expected to run Android 14 out of the box. The Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ might have 12GB RAM and 256GB base storage, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra might go up to 16GB RAM and 1TB or 2TB storage. They might also feature two-way satellite connectivity for emergency SOS.
