Congratulations are in order for Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla as they are expecting their first child together. On Saturday, Rubina and Abhinav made a joint Instagram post announcing the news and sharing a photo of themselves on a vacation.
They captioned the post, “We promised we will together explore the world since we started dating, got married, and now will do, as a family welcoming the little traveller soon!”
Currently in the US, Ruby and Abhinav are enjoying some quiet vacation time. They shared photos while posing on a cruise amid the mountains and azure water. They smiled for the camera and struck various poses as the shutterbugs clicked. Rubina dressed for the occasion in a black T-shirt, a pair of pants to match, and a grey cardigan. A white hoodie and a pair of blue jeans stood out on Abhinav. They were both sporting sneakers and sunglasses.
On June 21, 2018, Abhinav tied the knot with his longtime love Rubina in Shimla. It was Rubina who had proposed to Abhinav, and the latter had initially said ‘thank you’ and taken nine months to say yes, according to what Rubina had revealed on the reality TV show Bigg Boss.
When asked about the exact moment they realised they were in love, in an interview with Bollywood HungamaRubina responded, “I think we were a few months into dating and I was the first one to express that I have this longing to spend my life with him. That is when I proposed to him, on January 1, that I would want to grow old with him. It was me who actually had this feeling that I am in love with him and I want to express it.”

Ruby first met Abhinav at a common friend’s home. In an interview with India TVAbhinav stated that they had gathered to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and that he had thought Rubina was very attractive when he first saw her. After that, he started talking to her. In a different interview, Rubina did note, though, that she was the first to make a move. In 2015, the couple began dating.
It is commonly known that the couple had been going through a rough patch, even contemplating divorce before they appeared on Bigg Boss 14. “Humne ek dusre ko November tak ka time diya tha. We were about to get divorced. Agar hum iss show mein saath nahi aate, to shayad hum saath reh bhi nahi paate (We gave each other time till November. If we hadn’t come on the show together, we might have already parted ways),” Rubina said on Bigg Boss.
She told indianexpress.com in 2020, “We have had problems and challenges in our marriage too. However, what keeps us together is that we have not lost our individuality. We never overshadow or want to change each other.”
