Shortly after the news of this tragic incident emerged, various celebrities associated with the industry began sharing heartfelt messages on social media to express their grief and condolences.
Taking to Twitter, actor and politician R Sarath Kumar noted: “The news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of Meera, the daughter of @vijayantony and Fatima is shocking beyond imagination. No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima. Vijay I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss. Expressing shock and grief over the incident, actor Gautham Karthik wrote: “My deepest condolences to brother @vijayantony and his family… Truly shocking to hear this… I pray that God gives your family strength during this time. I’m so sorry for you loss. May she rest in peace…”
Dubbing the incident as heartbreaking, actor Krishna also expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
“Woke up to this extremely unfortunate news. My prayers and condolences to bro @vijayantony and family. May God give the strength to the poor parents to over come this pain,” actor Prasanna noted on social media.

Meanwhile, a previous social media post by Vijay Antony’s wife Fatima, commemorating one of Meera’s accomplishments, has now gone viral. Back in March, Fatima shared a photo of Meera wearing her school uniform along with a sash, and wrote: “The Force behind my strength, the consolations to my tears, the reason for my stress (Naughtiness super loaded)my Thangakatti-chellakutty. Meera Vijay Antony, Congrats Baby 🤗❤️🥰🔥🔥🔥”
Aged 16, Meera reportedly died by suicide in the wee hours of Tuesday.
