The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is set to hit the roads on November 1, 2023. Ahead of its official price reveal, a leaked homologation document has provided details about its engine specifications and dimensions. According to the leaked information, this adventure bike will feature a new 451.65cc liquid-cooled engine with a maximum power output of 40PS, and torque is estimated to be around 40-45Nm. The Himalayan 450 has a gross weight of 394kg and a kerb weight of 210kg, with a loading capacity of 180kg. It boasts a long wheelbase of 1510mm.

When compared to the KTM 390 Adventure, the RE Himalayan 450 is slightly less powerful (3PS) but has a longer wheelbase. The bike is equipped with 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels and features front and rear disc brakes, with optional dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). It also includes ride-by-wire technology, USD (upside-down) front forks, and a monoshock rear suspension.

Key features of the Himalayan 450 include a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth navigation, a round headlight, all-LED lighting, dual LED indicators, brake signals, and a triple-in-one taillamp. Royal Enfield will offer a range of accessories for the Himalayan 450, including multiple seat options, mirrors, crash guards, handlebar guards, footpegs, luggage seats, and more.

In terms of pricing, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to be priced around Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310 GS, and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.

In other news, Royal Enfield is gearing up to enter the pre-owned/used bike market, as it recently trademarked the name ‘Reown’. Bikes sold under the Royal Enfield Reown brand name are likely to undergo comprehensive quality checks and may be offered with a limited-time warranty. The Chennai-based bikemaker will also foray into the electric bike segment in the next couple of years.
