Navi Mumbai: On the occasion of Visarjan procession, the transport department has made no parking zones on main four roads on Visarjan day. A notification has been announced in this regard. As hundreds of vehicles are parked on both sides of the road in Koparkhairane area, alternative places have been suggested for these vehicles.
The Dharan Lake at Koparkhairane Sector 19, Navi Mumbai has been well-beautified since last few years and has been attracting a large number of people for Ganesha immersion in this lake. As the lake area is wide, the vehicles coming for Ganesh Visarjan do not create any problem on the lake.

But all the roads to reach the lake and return from there are becoming crowded. Therefore, the traffic department has declared no parking zones on both sides on all roads leading to Visarjan Lake. This No Parking Zone is being declared as “No-Parking” on 23rd, 24th, 25th from 02.00 PM to 12.00 PM and on Anant Chaturdashi from 12.00 PM to 06.00 AM the next day till the end of Ganesh Visarjan program.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Tirupati Kakade, the traffic control notification will not apply to essential vehicles such as police vehicles, fire brigade, ambulances, all types of passenger transport buses and other essential service vehicles.
