An MP’s ‘remark’ during the ongoing discussion on ‘Chandrayaan-3 success’ in the Lok Sabha on Thursday night turned into a political storm the next day. At the center of this political storm is Ramesh Bidhuri, a two-time Bharatiya Janata Party MP from posh South Delhi.
Whatever Ramesh Bidhuri said while targeting BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali, is no longer a part of the recorded proceedings of the Lok Sabha, nor is it possible to repeat it in any way.
The seriousness of what Bidhuri said being unparliamentary can also be gauged from the fact that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who was present in the House during the discussion, immediately expressed his regret over it.
After all-round pressure on the abusive language used against BSP MP Danish Ali, BJP had to issue a show cause notice to its MP.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that he does not support any indecent comment. Another senior party leader and former Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan had to clarify that he was seen laughing behind his fellow MP in the viral video of Vidhuri’s controversial remarks.

It is not that Ramesh Bidhuri’s name has come up for the first time in connection with any controversy. In the year 2017, he raised the issue of Sonia Gandhi’s Italian origin to attack Congress.
Mathura During a public meeting, he said, “In Italy, there must be such rituals that a grandson or granddaughter also comes after five-seven months of marriage, there are no such rituals in Indian culture.”
However, she later clarified on this statement and said that “we cannot be asked to account for ‘Acche Din’ before the completion of our five-year term.”
Bidhuri had said this in response to Congress’s criticism that even after two and a half years of forming the government, the BJP government has not fulfilled its promises.

While on Thursday, the religious identity of a Muslim MP was targeted in the Lok Sabha, last time four women MPs had gone to the Speaker and complained about his alleged ‘behaviour’.
This incident happened on August 4, 2015. Ranjit Ranjan, Sushmita Dev, Arpita Ghosh and PK Shrimati Teacher had accused Bidhuri of using ‘indecent and indecent’ language.
However, Bidhuri had denied his allegations.
When asked about this issue by the English newspaper Economic Times, he said in his reply, “I have no personal fight with her and I have not used any such language. She is using such tactics to divert attention.” They are taking unfair advantage of being women.”

Officials said that the Speaker has warned Bharatiya Janata Party MP Bidhuri saying that if such behavior is repeated in future, strict action will be taken against him.
Danish Ali, reacting to this matter, has said, “I hope that justice will be done to me and the Speaker will take action. If this does not happen, I will consider leaving this House with a full heart.”
Dr. Harsh Vardhan wrote on the social media platform Leader Rajnath Singh has already condemned the use of unforgivable language from both sides.”

There are sharp political reactions to Bidhuri’s remarks.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh told news agency ANI, “What he (Ramesh Bidhuri) has said to Danish Ali ji is extremely condemnable. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has apologized which is inadequate. Such language should not be used inside or outside the House.” This should not happen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that the new Parliament building has started with women power but it has started with Ramesh Bidhuri. This is not the thinking of Ramesh Bidhuri but of Bharatiya Janata Party. Our demand is that the membership of Ramesh Bidhuri should be cancelled. “Should be done.”
TMC MP Mahua Moitra wrote, “In this video, Bidhuri is using many objectionable words for the MP. Speaker Om Birla, the protector of dignity and world leader PM Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda – please take action. Muslims, backward classes. Abusing is an integral part of BJP’s culture, most people now see nothing wrong in it. Narendra Modi has forced Indian Muslims to live in such a state of fear in their own land that they bear everything with a smile. But I will continue to condemn it because Mother Kali has given me the backbone.”
Expressing anger over this, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah wrote on Twitter, “How easily these hate-filled MPs are using such objectionable words. Hate against Muslims has never been so mainstream. BJP’s Muslims How are leaders able to live with such haters. If he had just said ‘terrorist’ then we are used to it. Those words were used against the entire Muslim community. I am unable to understand why people associated with BJP How can Muslims tolerate this? It shows what they think of us? They should be ashamed.”
Aam Aadmi Party leader Amanatullah Khan wrote on Twitter, “Ramesh Bidhuri should be immediately dismissed and put in jail.”
Political career of Ramesh Bidhuri

Born in Tughlakabad, Delhi, Bidhuri was brought up and educated in this city.
In an interview, he had told that his father had donated his land for a school, Arya Samaj temple and hospital in the village.
In the eighties, he came in contact with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad through the student politics of Bhagat Singh College of Delhi University.
After this Bidhuri played a long political innings. He reached Delhi Assembly for the first time in 2003 through organizational politics.
Before being elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2014 from the prestigious seat of South Delhi, he had been a member of the Delhi Assembly thrice.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Ramesh Bidhuri defeated Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha and Congress candidate and boxing champion Vijender Singh.
