CM Jagan Mohan Reddy believes TV5 is a Pro-TDP Channel. He always names the channel alongside Eenadu and ABN as his enemies. TV5 is the best-ranked channel among all the three and next only to TV9 and NTV which are masked as neutral channels but are pro-YSR Congress.
Ever since Chandrababu Naidu was jailed TV5 is proving to be a burden and it is particularly because of Senior Journalist and Host, Samba Siva Rao.
Besides Murthy, Samba Siva Rao handles the Prime slot debates on TV5. Samba Siva Rao is proving to be very helpful for the YSR Congress these days. Probably, due to age factors or because of being an old-school journalist, Samba Siva Rao is struggling to cut a chord with the audience of this social media age.
There is too much melodrama in the way he talks about Chandrababu Naidu. This melodramatic talk is giving scope to Troll stuff videos that are damaging the reputation of TV5 as well as the Telugu Desam Party.
Videos of Samba Siva Rao explaining the mosquito menace in Rajahmundry Central Jail, a conspiracy theory of sending poisonous gases into Chandrababu’s barrack, and another elevation to Nara Brahmani.
Dengue is a serious problem and it becomes even more serious if a Septagenarian like Chandrababu gets Dengue. However, the way it is explained is unclear and has become troll stuff.
The conspiracy theory about poisonous gases is another thing and then, the over-elevation of Brahmani. We are living in the WhatsApp era. People are brushing aside even films made with 10s of Crore even if it remotely borderlines melodrama. When you are sending a message to the people, it is important you package it nicely.
If you cross the line, you lose the credibility of your channel and also do more damage than a favor to TDP.
As if the ongoing things are not enough for TDP to worry about, these videos are causing further damage.
Channels like TV9 and NTV wear a mask of neutrality successfully because they handle these things better. TV5 should take a cue if they want to push themselves into the Top 2 of BARC ratings.
It’s time TV5 management talk to him or revamp their team to avoid further damage.
