Bengaluru News Live Updates (September 24): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated nine new trains today, Karnataka is all set to operate its third Vande Bharat express train connecting Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The premium, semi-high-speed train will take 8 hours 30 minutes at an average speed of 71.74 kmph to cover 609.81 km between Yeshwantpur and Kacheguda. Currently, Karnataka has two Vande Bharat trains operating between Mysuru-Bengaluru-Chennai and Bengaluru-Hubballi-Dharwad.
Meanwhile, a farmers’ group has also called a bandh in city on Tuesday (September 26) over the Congress government’s decision to to release 5,000 cusecs of water per day to Tamil Nadu. This is in line with the state government adhering till Tuesday (September 26) to a Supreme Court directive to obey orders of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) amid protests by farmer groups and the Opposition BJP in Karnataka over Cauvery river water dispute.
