Australia’s left-arm fast bowler Spencer Johnson made his ODI debut in the second ODI of the three-match series being played between India and Australia at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Johnson was given the ODI cap by senior fast bowler Mitchell Starc. This name is new for many Indian cricket fans.

27 year old Spencer has performed well in the league matches. He has impressed a lot with his bowling in the Big Bash League and The Hundred. Left-arm fast bowler Spencer is known for consistently bowling balls at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour. He made his List-A debut for South Australia in a JLT One-Day Cup match against Victoria in 2017. However, Spencer remained out of the field for three years due to a stress fracture in his left leg. The injury was so serious that he was not able to run for about 12 months.

Spencer Johnson made his T20I debut during Australia’s three-match T20I series against South Africa this year. Johnson has taken two wickets in many matches in the shortest format of the game. He made headlines with his sensational bowling in his The Hundred debut match, in which he took three wickets for just one run in 20 balls.

Johnson, who became Australia’s 243rd ODI player, had a chance to make his mark in international cricket in the second ODI against the Men in Blue, but his pace could not show anything special on the Indian pitch. The talented fast bowler took two wickets in three matches at an economy rate of 7.90.
