Asian Games 2023 Live Updates, Day 3: India clinched it’s first gold at Hangzhou 2023 on Monday as the trio of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Divyansh Singh Panwar in 10m air rifle men’s team event. Tuesday will see more of the Indian shooters feature as top contenders among other events on Day 3 at the 19th Asian Games.

Medallists already in Hangzhou, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Ramita will be vying to add to their and India’s tally in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
In Volleyball, while the Indian team were knocked out in the quarterfinals, in a consolation game the men in blue face arch rivals Pakistan. The men’s hockey team will also return to action against Singapore early morning Indian Standard Time (IST).

India’s depth in the 10m air rifle, an event made famous by Messrs Bindra and Narang, with three strong shooters capable of making the 8-man final, yielded the country its first gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
It took the collective might of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudranksh Patil and Divyansh Panwar with a world record aggregate of qualification scores, to ensure that the Chinese shooting phenomenon Sheng Lihao would settle for bronze in the team event. (Read more)
