Shaheer Sheikh: I haven’t been approached for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Since the news of the successful and long-running TV show What is this relationship called? going in for a time leap surfaced, there has been speculation regarding the actors who will take the story ahead. The most recent reports suggest that Shaheer Sheikh has been approached to join the cast to play the new male lead when the storyline advances by a few years.c
We approached Shaheer to know more about it, and he told us, “Nobody has approached me from the production house till now.”
A source associated with the show told us, “The time leap is happening for sure, and all cast members have been informed about it in advance.However, we don’t have precise details about the timing yet. It could take place at the end of November or in December. ProducerRajan Shahi is known for fleshing out the character and its graph before approaching anyone. The creative team is still finalising details, so casting hasn’t commenced. We haven’t approached any actors for the roles yet.”

Meanwhile, there is also buzz that Karan Kundrra has been in talks to take up the role of the new male lead in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. However, chances of Karan joining the show, too, seem unlikely, as he is busy with his upcoming film. Besides, he has already been a part of the family show, making the possibility of him being approached for the part remote.
Shaheer had earlier acted in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, produced by Rajan Shahi, who is recognised as one of the most successful makers on television today. Interestingly, Karan, who was last seen in the supernatural thriller show, My love is hurting youhas been a part of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He played Ranveer Chauhan in the show two years ago.
