The awaited mass drama “Skanda” is made in the combination of Tollywood energetic star Ram Pothineni as the hero as well as the young and talented heroine Srilila who has become the definition of energy in the heroines and mass director Boyapati Srinu as the heroine. And let’s find out in the review how this movie which was released amid good hype.
Story:
AP Chief Minister (Ajay Purkar) and Telangana Chief Minister (Sharath Lohitswa) make some heinous charges against Rudraganti Ramakrishna Raju (Srikanth), a famous businessman from India and who has given life to many people through his companies and put him in jail. But in this order, both the CMs will also be bad in the middle. With this, Bhaskara Raju (Ram Pothineni) enters into their feud. And who is this king of Bhaskara? If all of them have any connection with Bhaskar, what is it? So, to know the answer to the interesting questions whether Ram Dual Shades is two or one, this film has to be seen on the silver screen.
Plus Points:
The first thing to talk about in this film is Ram’s performance in dual shades. Ram showed his mass in both shades. Ram fits perfectly in the macho personality designed by Boyapati and rocks in the action sequences. Also, many elevations and mass action sequences give a high in a range to the mass audience.
Similarly, Ram delivered the dialogues of Boya Mark very well. Moreover, Boyapati showed his mass right from the title card and gave a solid start. Boyapati’s characterization of the hero can also be said to be a highlight of the film. The heroine Sri Leela also impressed with her beautiful looks and energetic performance. And even with Ram, his on-screen chemistry gets a workout.
Srikanth, Indraja, Prince and others who played the other main roles are impressive in terms of their roles. And young actress Sai Manjrekar also impresses with an emotional performance. Along with these, the action sequences designed by Boyapati in the movie are good with his trademark twists and family emotions.
Minus Points:
Like all Boyapati’s first films, this film is very regular. The movie starts off solid but the next one slows down a bit. With this, the first shot of the film feels very big.
It is better if you watch the movie without expecting another point of logic, and some action sequences feel too over the top. Another disappointing aspect is the placement of the songs in the movie which makes the movie feel more laggy.
Along with these, the importance of Srilila’s role in the film is also not seen much. If you watch some sequences, you will not even remember Boyapati’s last few films.
Technical category:
The production values are good in this film. The producers did not compromise anywhere. Also the score given by Thaman in the technical team is good. But the songs are not up to the mark. Also the cinematography is good. Editing should be better. A decision has to be taken regarding the main songs.
And when it comes to director Boyapati Srinu… while he was looking at what kind of subject he would take up after Akhanda, he picked up a decent subject called Skanda. But there is no doubt that Boyapati invented the role of the hero in a range. He also presented decent emotions dialogues. However, Boyapati’s film is meant for the mass audience and it seems that stories and logic have to be kept aside. And Skanda also belongs to this category.
Verdict:
Overall, it can be said that this “Skanda” is a regular Boyapati mark solid mass drama. Definitely Ram but in Boyapati’s version he was overwhelmed. Ram’s variations in his characterization and mannerisms are impressive. Also the mass action sequences and elevations will appeal to the mass audience. But the movie feels a bit stretched here and there. And it is Boyapati’s regular mass movie buffs, as well as the mass audience this weekend will impress. And for the rest, it feels okay.
