Govt Reacts On Stars Corruption Charges

Govt Reacts On Stars Corruption ChargesActor and Producer, Vishal, shared a video on X yesterday wherein he shared his firsthand experience of corruption in the Film Certification Board.

He said that he had to pay 6.5 lakhs to the official of CBFC, Mumbai to get certification for his movie ‘Mark Antony’s’ Hindi release in north India. He did two transactions, one for screening worth 3 lakhs and another for certification worth 3.5 lakhs.

Vishal urged Maharashtra CM and PM Modi to look into the matter. After the news exploded on social media, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting shared a post on X responding to Vishal’s claim. They said that a senior officer has been appointed to inquire about the allegations and take necessary actions.

The ministry reassured that strict action will be taken against the guilty. At the same time urged people to file complaints if such issues occur in future at [email protected].

As per reports, Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, has taken steps to ensure transparency in slotting and implementation of faceless systems when possible. The ministry was very prompt in responding to the charges made against CBFC and their eagerness to ensure transparency might put the filmmakers in good spirits.

This is a shameful act that a filmmaker has to go through this kind of corruption after putting so much effort into making a movie. If this is the reality then one can only imagine what happened behind the scenes for pan india movies with hundreds of crores of budget!
