Nithya Menon, who is one of the most popular heroines in Tollywood, recently starred in the series Kumari Srimati. Vasarasla Srinivas has provided the screenplay for this series directed by Gontesh Upadye. Now let’s have a look at the review of this series which came to the audience today through the popular OTT medium Amazon Prime.
Story:
Set in Ramarajalanka, the story revolves around a generation-old property between a lady (Nitya Menon) and her grandfather, Kesha Rao (Prem Sagar). Smriti promises her grandfather in her childhood that she will never sell their house. But Kesha Rao, her grandfather, claims in the court that the entire house belongs to him and that his elder brother has written all the property to him. But Kesha Rao, who wants to sell the house to someone else for a huge amount, wants to seize the entire property through the court.
The court ruled that it was a generational property and that he could not sell it to someone else. Court says that Mrs. can get her house within six months by paying the original price. But since it is impossible for the woman who works for a small salary to get the house for such a large amount, her friend Sriram (Nirupam) advises her to start a business. And then Mrs. will start a business with the advice of a friend, and then what will happen. In the end, it has to be seen in the series whether Mrs. will get the house within the deadline or not.
Plus Points:
There have been many movies in the past with this concept related to heritage property, but this series is impressive and provides good entertainment. Emotional scenes also touch our hearts. Some of the dialogues are old but catchy and the comedy is good too. Especially this series makes true the saying that women can grow by themselves if they put their mind to it. After setting up a bar and restaurant with the idea of starting a business, Mrs. faces problems from the villagers.
But it is impressive to run a bar and restaurant in accordance with the ideas of Mrs. Villagers who reconciled with them later. A cameo by a noted hero is also good. Especially Nithya Menon entertained everyone with her impressive performance and entertainment in the role of Mrs. Senior actress Gautami also played a key role. As a mother, she is very impressive in her role of understanding the hard work and perseverance of her daughter and moving forward. Another senior actress of yesteryear Talluri Rameshwari also performed well. Praneetha Patnaik, Prem Sagar, entertained as per the story. The songs are also good. The series entertains the OTT audience and can be watched comfortably by the entire family.
Minus Points:
But there are not so many romantic tracks in it. In fact Nirupam and Thiruveer both have acted well but some impact seems to be missing. When it comes to some mid-episodes, the narration slows down. And the climax scene also seems to have gone fast. This series would have been better if it had written an impressive ending scene.
Technology Category:
Both Staccato & Kamran also excelled in songs and BGM. Especially the song in the bar is very good. ,Mohankrishna’s photography is good. Also the production values are very good. Most of the editing is also done well. Along with the screenplay provided by Srinivas Avarsala, the dialogues are also good. His brand of comedy is impressive. Director Gontesh Upadye has directed this series very neatly. They have succeeded in eliciting impressive performances from the actors in particular. But some portions would have been better written.
Verdict:
Overall Kumari Srimati series is a good comedy series with an impressive saga of women empowerment. The comedy portions are impressive for the most part. Nithya Menon and Gauthami’s performance and good entertaining scenes. But as mentioned earlier, some episodes could have been written better and the narration is slow at times. However, it can be said that Kumari Smriti is an entertaining series worth watching this weekend.
