It is no secret that Royal Enfield will soon introduce the new generation Himalayan 450 in the Indian market before the end of this year. The official debut is likely to place in the end of October or early November 2023. Ahead of the official debut, key details including the engine specifications of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 ADV have been leaked on the Internet.
New Powertrain
It is reported that the new motorcycle could be called the RE Himalayan 452; however, Royal Enfield is yet to make an official announcement on the same. It is reportedly to be powered by a 451.65cc, single-cylinder engine that is likely to produce around 39.47bhp and the peak power will be accessible at 8,000rpm. It will be coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.
Longer Wheelbase
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will ride on 1,510mm wheelbase and will have a width of 852mm. The wheelbase is around 45mm longer than the Himalayan 411 that has 1,465mm wheelbase. The motorcycle’s length has been increased by 55mm to 2,245mm, while the width is increased by good 12mm. With optional handguards, the bike’s width will be around 900mm.
New Tech
This adventure motorcycle has been spotted testing multiple times in India and on foreign soil. In fact, CS Santosh has shared an instagram reel showing capabilities of the new adventure bike. The motorcycle will feature 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with off-road-ready rubber and will have dual-discs along with a dual-channel ABS as standard. It is also expected to receive ride-by-wire technology, USD front forks, and a monoshock rear suspension.
The new RE Himalayan 452 styling has been inspired from the existing version featuring round headlight, metal frame and fuel tank. The motorcycle will have trellis frame, and new hardware and features. The motorcycle will have LED lighting system, a full digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity and others.
Expected Pricing & Competition
Royal Enfield is also expected to offer a series of accessories including the crash guards, footpegs, seat options, handlebar guards, mirrors and luggage sets with the new Himalayan 452. The new motorcycle is likely to be priced aggressively and will be positioned right between the Classic 350 and the Interceptor 650. It is expected to cost somewhere between Rs 2.4 lakh and Rs 2.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The ADV will rival the KTM Adventure 390 and the BMW G310 GS.
