Honda has recently launched the Elevate mid-sized SUV at an aggressive price tag, which makes it one of the most affordable in its category. In fact, some of its variants are priced very similar to some sub-4 meter SUVs including the Maruti Brezza and the Tata Nexon. We have already compared the Elevate and the Nexon compact SUV on the basis of price, features and specifications. This time around, we compare the Honda Elevate VX variant and the ZXi+ variant of the Maruti Brezza.

The Elevate mid-sized SUV is available in 4 trim levels – SV, V, VX and ZX priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 16 lakh. On the other hand, the Brezza is offered in 4 trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ – priced between Rs 8.29 lakh and Rs 13.98 lakh. For the dual-tone variant, one has to pay an extra of up to Rs 16,000 and the top-end ZXi+ AT DT will cost around Rs 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Honda Elevate VX trim is offered with manual and CVT options. While the manual variant is priced at Rs 13.50 lakh, the CVT model costs around Rs 14.60 lakh. The Brezza ZXi+ MT dual-tone costs Rs 12.64 lakh, while the ZXi AT dual-tone is tagged at Rs 14.14 lakh.

Note – the Elevate VX manual is around Rs 86,000 and the automatic version is around 46,000 expesive than the Brezza ZXi+ manual and automatic respectively.

– Powering the Honda Elevate is a tried & tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 121PS and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
– The Brezza gets a 1.5-litre K15C naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is good for 103PS and 136.8Nm of torque. It is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox options.

– The Brezza also has a CNG option, which is not available with Honda Elevate. In CNG mode, the powertrain produces 87bhp and 121.5Nm.
Mileage
– The Brezza petrol manual is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.38kmpl, while the Automatic version delivers 19.8kmpl. The CNG version is claimed to offer a mileage of 25.51 km/kg.
– The Honda Elevate manual returns 15.31kmpl, while the CVT is rated at 16.92kmpl.
Note – the Brezza has an upper hand over the Elevate when it comes to efficiency. However, the Elevate offers better ride quality and more powerful engine.
Dimensions
– the Elevate measures 4312mm in length, 1790mm in width and 1650mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2650mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 220mm and a boot space of 458-litres.
– the mid-sized SUV has a clear advantage over the Nexon when it comes to cabin space. It is 317mm longer than the Brezza; however, the later is 35mm taller.
– the Elevate also has 150mm longer wheelbase compared to the Brezza. This is very important to free space inside the cabin, mostly in the second row. Moreover, the Elevate has 20mm higher ground clearance and offers 130-litres more boot space than the Brezza.
