- Take shelter under tables, beds or sturdy furniture during an earthquake.
- Hold on tightly to the furniture to maintain balance.
- Stay in open spaces away from trees and power lines.
- Do not go into the house after it has been demolished.
- If you are inside the vehicle, stay inside it and do not get out.
