The updated version of the Suzuki EVX concept will make its public debut at the 2023 Japan Motor Show – Interiors will be revealed this time.
Maruti Suzuki had showcased its first born-electric SUV, called the eVX concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced to showcase the near production version of the concept at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. Adding to it, the new gen Suzuki Swift concept will also be unveiled at the motor event.
For people not in the known, Maruti Suzuki had not revealed the interiors of the EVX concept at the biennial event. This time around, Suzuki has released the pictures of the futuristic interior of the electric SUV. Moreover, pictures have also revealed the more evolved and closer to production exterior.
Suzuki has also confirmed that the EVX concept will come with the electronically-controlled 4×4 technologies. In terms of proportions, the new Suzuki EVX is 4300mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1600mm in height. It is claimed to offer a range of 500km on a single charge.
The new images show that the new Suzuki EVX has some design changes. It comes a newly designed and repositioned LED lights, which appears more production ready. The lower bumper has also been updated; however, it has the concept-like fog lamps and silver treatment on the lower side. The SUV gets production-spec outside rear view mirrors with slim LED indicators. The Suzuki logo in the front is positioned slightly higher than before.
The rear profile looks identical to the concept model; however, it now features a production-ready tail-lights. The concept had a connected light bar, which is missing in the new images. It has a dark chrome bar that accommodates the Suzuki Logo. It retains the roof-integrated spoiler and dual-tone lower bumper.
Maruti Suzuki EVX Interior
Unlike exterior, the interior of the Maruti Suzuki EVX appears futuristic and won’t make its way to the production model. It comes with a dual-tone interior with majority of the dashboard is finished in Beige scheme. There are no physical buttons anywhere around the dashboard. It has vertically stacked air-con vents, while the two-spoke steering wheel now has touch panels for media and other functions.
There is a free standing huge touchscreen placed right behind the steering wheel, which offers functionalities of infotainment as well as the instrumentation. The central console appears premium and futuristic, and won’t make it to the production model. The gearbox selector is inspired from the Nexon EV MAX.
The electric SUV has sporty bucket seats finished in dual-tone black and beige. The front and rear seats come with adjustable headrests. The production-ready model will come with different seats. The new model is expected to get ADAS tech; however, details are yet to be revealed.
Specs
The Maruti Suzuki EVX concept was equipped with a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which will offer a range of up to 550kms. The updated concept with 4×4 tech is claimed to have a range of over 500 kilometers. MSIL has not revealed more details about the cell chemistry for the battery and the electric motor.
