Two warm-up matches were played in the One Day World Cup on Monday. England defeated Bangladesh by 4 wickets at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. At the Greenfield International Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 7 runs under the DLS method.

England won by 4 wickets
Due to rain at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, the match was played in 37-37 overs. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first, Mehdi Hasan Miraz scored an inning of 74 runs. Opener Tanjid Hasan scored 45 runs, but the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. The team scored 188 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 37 overs.
