Jana Sena is gearing up to contest the Telangana General Elections independently for the first time. The party has issued a press release stating that Jana Sena will field candidates in 32 segments across the state.
Many political observers had assumed that Pawan Kalyan might not participate in the Telangana elections, given his focus on Andhra Pradesh during the previous elections. Despite officially being part of the NDA, Jana Sena has chosen to contest on its own in Telangana, as the BJP does not appear to be considering Jana Sena as a partner.
On the other hand, Pawan has declared an alliance with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh. It could be a win-win situation for both the TDP and Jana Sena if they contested together in Telangana. Such an alliance could potentially yield positive results, especially in areas where Andhra people reside in Telangana.
In the 2019 elections, Jana Sena secured 7% of the vote in Andhra Pradesh. It is widely anticipated that Jana Sena will receive a lower percentage of votes in Telangana compared to Andhra Pradesh.
This situation provides an opportunity for the YSRCP to criticize Pawan politically, and they have attempted to create negative perceptions among AP voters, suggesting that Pawan does not have a significant impact on them. In all scenarios, contesting in the Telangana elections may not be politically advantageous for Pawan Kalyan.
