ThiThere was a surge of short films this week among the Yeaters. Many small films lined up in front of the box office. Among them, ‘Rules Ranjan’ attracted everyone’s attention. Famous producer AM Ratnam acted as the presenter for this film starring Kiran Abbavaram as the hero. His son Ratnam Krishna directed the film. Expectations for the film have increased as the songs and promotional images have been well received before the release. And what is the story of ‘Rules Ranjan’? (Rules Ranjan Review in telugu) What kind of entertainment did his journey bring to the audience?
The story is: Mano Ranjan (Kiran Abbavaram) is a middle class boy from Tirupati. Although he is average in studies, he works hard and gets a job in campus selection. He will shift to Mumbai for that. But because he doesn’t know Hindi, he faces some insults in the office in the beginning. Check this problem with Alexa. Impressing the boss with his talent, he becomes a team leader. From there he enforces all the employees in the office to follow his rules. With this they all start calling him Rules Ranjan. But Ranjan’s life, which is going on alone, takes another turn with the arrival of Sana (Neha Shetty). Ranjan loves her deeply in college days. But, he never reveals that love out of fear. After many years, when he meets Sana in Mumbai, Ranjan tells her his heart’s desire. Both of them spend a whole day having fun together. In this order she also loves him. After that, she goes away again and goes to Tirupati in search of her. And what happened after that? What are the steps taken by Ranjan to marry her? (Rules Ranjan Review) What are the challenges faced in this order? What are the roles of Kamesh (Vennela Kishore) and Sana Anna (Subbaraju) in this story? Why did his friends Adi, Viva Harsha and Nellore Sudarshan try to spoil Ranjan’s marriage? That is the rest of the story.
Who did it: It is a routine romantic comedy entertainer. There is no novelty in the story. In the first half, there is no real story. Although the actual story started in the second half, it went like a cart that lost its groove. From the title cards, Ranjan tries to introduce his story and background to the audience and take them into his world. Even though he doesn’t know Hindi.. he says he can and gets a job.. he goes to Mumbai for that.. and gets insulted in the office for not knowing Hindi.. the story goes like this. Ever since Vennela Kishore came on screen as Kamesh, both the story and the audience get excited. (Rules Ranjan Review) The episodes that come between Ranjan and him are entertaining. Same strength for the first half. Ranjan’s college days love story was introduced simply with a song. But, there is no feeling in it. Neha’s character makes an entry into the story before the break. Ranjan seeing her when she came to Mumbai for an interview.. getting a chance to travel with her for a whole day in order to help her.. Sana gets closer to him during this journey.. this story takes a turn in a romantic angle. Interval scenes are poor.
The second half starts with Ranjan coming to Tirupati in search of Sanani. Ranjan’s attempts to meet her from there.. The story becomes a bit juicy with hyper Adi, Harsha and Sudarshan’s moves to break them up somehow. In this sequence, some scenes between Ranjan and Adi’s gang are laughable. Also, the bar episode between Sana’s brother Subbaraju and Aadi’s team is also laughable. (Rules Ranjan Review) However, due to lack of proper feel and strong conflict in Ranjan-Sanala’s love story, the movie feels very dull. In the process of getting close to Sana, Ranjan accidentally connects with her friend’s family.. They prepare to give the girl of the house to Ranjan.. On the other hand, Sana decides to marry her friend’s brother Ajay, what will happen next? That’s where the interest begins. But, Ranjan’s efforts to spoil these marriages are not very impressive. Even if the key scenes go without logic, you get a chance to laugh for a while with the commotion of Vennela Kishore.

Who did it: Kiran Abbavaram has done well in the role of Mano Ranjan. In some scenes, his acting seems a bit overdone. At the same time he showed good comedy timing here and there. Neha looked beautiful as Sana. There is not much scope in the story to show in terms of acting. Her gestures in the song “Sammohanuda”…the steps taken…the way the song was made are impressive. Vennela Kishore’s entertainment in the role of Kamesh, who acts like a playboy, strengthened the film. (Rules Ranjan Review in Telugu) The characters of Aadi, Harsha and Sudarshan spread laughter here and there. The roles of Naginidu, Goparaju Ramana, Subbaraju, Ajay etc. are in scope. There is nothing new in the story chosen by the director. Especially the love track is very poor. Unnecessary scenes look bloated. Amrish’s music was not good. Sammohanuda song is a special attraction of the movie. Cinematography and production values are good.
