KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Shadab Khan was dismissed for 32 against Netherlands
  • The right-handed batsman was bowled by Bas de Leede
  • Pakistan got dismissed for 286

Shadab Khan wasn’t amused after getting bowled off Bas de Leede and seemingly abused himself on his way back to the pavilion. He also hit his helmet while walking back. Shadab was batting brilliantly and had scored 32 off 33 balls before he got bowled.

Shadab’s wicket had an impact on Pakistan’s score and they got bowled out for 286. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel top-scored for Pakistan, scoring 68 runs each.

The Men in Green didn’t get off to a great start as they lost the key wicket of Fakhar Zaman in the 4th over. Five overs later, Babar Azam departed for 5. Pakistan lost the wicket of Imam ul Haq in the very next over, which left them reeling at 38/3.

Rizwan and Shakeel rescued the 1992 World Cup Champions by adding 120 runs for the fourth wicket. After their dismissals, Shadab took the onus and played a key knock.

Towards the end, Mohammad Nawaz provided the much-needed boost to the score by scoring 39 off 43 balls as Pakistan put on a total of 286 on the board. Bas das Leede shone with the ball and scalped four wickets.

Netherlands lost an early wicket of their opener, Max O’Dowd in the sixth over. They lost Colin Ackerman’s wicket in the 12th over. The Netherlands are 2 down for 56 after 14 overs and need 227 runs to pull off a heist. It won’t be an easy task for them and Pakistan are favourites to successfully defend the target.

Pakistan will stay in Hyderabad after the Netherlands game as they are scheduled to face Sri Lanka here on October 10. They will leave Hyderabad after two weeks and fly to Ahmedabad for the marquee game against India, scheduled to take place on October 14.

Netherlands will also stay in Hyderabad as they are slated to face New Zealand here on October 9.
