Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has slapped one of his personal security officers at a public event here on Friday. The purported video has gone viral on social media.
Mr. Ali along with Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav were at the Ameerpet Government High School for the inaugural ceremony of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for school children.
The incident took place just when the programme started when Mr. Ali was invited onto the stage. He went straight to Mr. Yadav, embraced and conveyed him birthday wishes.
Mr. Ali, as seen in the video, who looked around for a bouquet and shawl to greet Mr. Yadav, lost his cool and slapped the on-duty officer. The latter immediately arranged one and handed it to the Minister.
He should apologise: Seethakka
Congress MLA from Mulugu Seethakka reacted to the incident, and said that Mr. Ali was impatient. “He should apologise for his act immediately,” she said.
Seethakka, citing her experience while touring villages and meeting people, and expressing her respect for the police, said that security personnel and gunmen have always taken care of her like family members.
