Renu Desai played the role of a social reformer Hemalatha Lavanam who protested against untouchability and the caste system in Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Tiger Nageswara Rao.
Renu Desai says she didn’t know anything about Hemalatha Lavanam when director Vamsee narrated the story. “I’m so blessed to be part of the movie and to play the character of Hemalatha Lavanam. She was a larger-than-life person. She took part in the historical surrenders of dacoits in Chambal Valley to Bundelkhand.”
The actress says Hemalatha’s character is an inspiration for many girls of this generation. She also affirms that there was the impact of Hemalatha on her, after doing the movie.
The movie produced by Abhishek Agarwal is arriving in cinemas on October 20th.
