After a three-month-long battle, Dino James was announced as the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 on Saturday. The rapper beat Arjit Taneja and Aishwarya Sharma to take home the trophy, Rs 20 lakh cash prize, and a car.
The grand finale of the Rohit Shetty-hosted adventure reality show saw this year’s contestants joining in for a fun-filled night. Apart from showcasing the final task, a few of them also took to the stage to perform some dance numbers. Winner Dino James presented an original rap song describing his journey on the show. Being an ace performer throughout the show, he was also appreciated by the host for being fearless not only while performing stunts, but also whenever he had to voice his opinions.
Talking about his victory, Dino James said in a statement, “Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 came into my life as a blessing and I am grateful to have had such an amazing time on this iconic show. I value the appreciation I got from Rohit sir and the opportunity to be bigger than my fears. I never imagined I had the capacity to become this evolved version of myself. The friendships I formed on this show were totally unexpected but precious. I dedicate my victory to my fans, who have been super supportive, and I am touched that their love has come my way in abundance.”
Host Rohit Shetty added, “Each year, we harness our creative energies in crafting unprecedented and innovative challenges for our contestants and spiking up the fear factor of the show. In this edition, every participant showed courage in the most unexpected moments. Congratulations to Dino James for not only winning the trophy but also for winning viewers’ hearts. I believe he is the most genuine and fearless contestant we have had this season. This edition would not have been a success without our base of ardent fans and viewers. Earlier, in a chat with indianexpress.com, Dino had confessed that he had said no to Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 when it was first offered to him. “When my team told me, I refused immediately. But a lot of people around me said that it would be my kind of show. After getting convinced by the team, I finally said yes.”
The singer added that he had never watched the show and expected it to be a ‘negative space’. Dino shared that he felt reality shows would be all about fighting and drama. “But when I reached there, I realised it was so different. It has been an amazing journey. I think I made it seem difficult in my head. The team and the cast were so welcoming. It was a seamless experience. Because I haven’t been part of Indian television, I didn’t know how it would work but I came back with some amazing memories and friends.”
Apart from Dino James, this season of Khatron Ke Khiladi featured Daisy Shah, Rohit Bose Roy, Anjum Fakih, Arjit Taneja, Anjali Anand, Ruhi Chaturvedi, Soundous Moufakir, Sheezan Khan, Aishwarya Sharma, Rashmeet Kaur, Nyrra Banerjee and Archana Gautam. The show will be replaced by Bigg Boss 17 over the weekend.
