2 Comfortable, 1 Under Pressure

Anil-Ravipudi-Vamsi-Krishna-Naidu-Lokesh-KanagarajThis Dussehra, South Indian cinema lovers are in for a treat with three highly anticipated films set to battle it out at the box office. Vijay’s “Leo,” Balakrishna’s “Bhagavanth Kesari,” and Ravi Teja’s “Tiger Nageswara Rao” promise an action-packed extravaganza.

Among these directors, Lokesh Kanagaraj stands out as one of the most prominent in the industry. The success of “Leo” could catapult him into a new league, but even if the film falters, it won’t significantly affect his career, given his impressive lineup of mammoth projects.

Anil Ravipudi is also on the safe side now. If Bhagavanth Kesari turns out to be a success, it will further improve his standing as a commercial director who knows the pulse of the masses. And if in case, the film doesn’t do that well, he still would be in a comfortable position where he can work on his weak points and come up with a better film next time.

But that’s not the case with director Vamsee. He has already made two films including Lakshmi Manchu’s Dongata. Tiger Nageswara Rao is the first big film of his career.

Despite being relatively unproven, he’s been entrusted with a substantial budget, a strong technical team, a stellar cast, and a saleable hero. The success of Tiger Nageswara Rao is crucial for his career.

If he has to survive in the industry and become a successful director, he has to deliver big time with Tiger Nageswara Rao. He has no other option but to deliver a kickass film. He can’t blame anyone but himself this time if the film fails.

This festive season, two directors enjoy a comfortable position, while one is under immense pressure to deliver a blockbuster.
