After the successful launch of the new Seltos, Kia will launch the Sonet facelift in the country in the first quarter of 2024. Ahead of the official debut, first undisguised images of the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift have hit the web world. The latest spy images from China reveal the exterior design of the updated Sonet.
The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift spotted in China is longer than 4 meters in length; however, the India-spec model sits under 4 meters in length. It is expected that the updated Sonet for India will come with a slightly different front and rear bumpers. This is the first mid-lifecycle update given to the Sonet compact SUV since its launch in September 2020.
The front fascia of the 2024 Kia Sonet comes with new front bumper and the updated headlamp setup. The main headlamp unit is identical to the existing model, but it has new drop-down element that extends into the bumper.
It comes with revised LED daytime running lamps and fog lamps. The spotted model comes with a slightly redesigned faux skid plate and new mesh treatment for the central air intake. The small SUV also gets an updated grille inserts.
The side profile of the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift looks largely identical to the existing model, except for the new set of alloy wheels. At the back, the SUV gets a new vertical tail-lamp unit instead of the wraparound unit. These are connected by an LED light bar. The SUV gets a sportier rear bumper with a dual-tone black and silver finish.
The previous images of the Kia Sonet facelift reveal that the cabin has received subtle changes. The SUV is likely to get updated switchgear for the HVAC controls and an all-new digital instrument console, which are inspired from the new Venue. The SUV is also likely to get new brown-finished upholstery and an armrest for the rear seat.
The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of engines including a 83bhp, 1.2L NA Petrol, a 118bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
