With the Galaxy S23 series arriving on the scene earlier this year, prices have dropped substantially for the Galaxy S22 lineup. If you’re thinking of upgrading to the S22 from an older phone, especially if you don’t feel the need to upgrade to the S23 or want to skip that generation altogether, there are solid deals to be had right now. Whether you’re looking to buy something outright, trade in, or grab a phone as part of a service plan, you’ll find offers and discounts that should help you keep more cash in your wallet.
If you’re coming in from the previous S21 generation, upgrading will score you a lot of cool features, most of which revolve around the camera. There’s a larger pixel sensor, better nighttime photography, and an improved portrait mode with auto-framing that can handle up to 10 people.
Of course, if you want the best Samsung phone you can get, the S22 Ultra is the gadget to go for. And one thing we’re finally happy to see is the inclusion of the S Pen, which used to be on the now-canceled Galaxy Note. The S23 also has similar upgrades to the camera system, and a couple of special ones, such as raw photo tools and Super Clear Glass lenses for better videos at night, so it’s a great phone to pick up if you love photography.
What colors does the Galaxy S22 come in?
Both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are available in phantom black, phantom white, green and pink gold. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a slightly different color lineup: phantom black, phantom white, green and burgundy.
How much does the Galaxy S22 cost?
The three models of the Galaxy S22 are available in various storage configurations, and with the release of the Galaxy S23Samsung dropped the base price for the Galaxy S22 by $100. US pricing for each model now starts at:
- Samsung Galaxy S22: $700 (originally $800)
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus: $1,000
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: $1,200
Both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are available in 128GB and 256GB storage options with 8GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will also add in options for 512GB and 1TB with up to 12GB of RAM.

Best Galaxy S22 deals
Most carriers and retailers are offering some form of S22 deal right now, especially if you’ve got an older device you’re looking to trade in. We’ve rounded up the best Galaxy S22 deals that you can shop and we will continue to update this page as new offers become available, so keep checking back if your carrier or preferred retailer is not listed below.
If you don’t want the headache of navigating carriers, plans and installment payments, you’ll want an unlocked phone that you can purchase outright. There’s a significant discount on the 256GB S22, with up to a $250 discount, bringing it down to under $600. If you want a more advanced model, you can find some small discounts on the S22 Plus or the S22 Ultra, but note that discounts jump around quite a bit between different colors and configurations, and some offers are from third-party sellers which you may want to avoid.
Samsung’s website is the obvious place to buy the company’s Galaxy phones. The site does not currently offer the S22 Ultra, but you can score the S22 and S22 Plus in all the device configurations and the site has multiple payment options available, plus it offers carrier and unlocked models, so you can choose between buying the phone outright or through carrier payments, or by financing it through Samsung, depending on your preference.
As of right now, Samsung is not offering a direct discount on these devices, but you can save up to $600 when trading in your old devices, with the latest iPhones netting you the biggest discount. Samsung even accepts old and damaged devices, though they won’t get you nearly as much in trade-in credit.
Pick a 128GB Galaxy S22, and you’ll pay nothing on a new contract. Device bundles are also available, including $550 off a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G and $170 off an eligible Samsung Galaxy Watch when buying an S22 series device, though note you’ll also need a new line for either of these bundles.
While there are no direct discounts on S22 phones, Best Buy has its own trade-in program, where you can save up to $650 in exchange for your old phones and devices. You can also get some great deals as part of a carrier plan. Some examples on Verizon include $100 off a contract for the Galaxy S22, while the Galaxy S22 Plus gets you $300 savings. That doubles to $600 off on a similar contract with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. AT&T is offering similar deals there, depending on the model and configuration you’re looking for.
The Galaxy S22 is available for as little as $10 a month at AT&T without the need to trade in your old phone. Over 36 months, that’s almost as good as a 50% discount on the phone’s regular cost. An eligible unlimited plan is required to get the savings and, unfortunately, the deal doesn’t extend to the more premium S22 Plus or S22 Ultra handsets.
If you’re willing to grab a new line, T-Mobile is offering the S22 for $0 a month on qualifying plans over 24 months.
With a new line from Xfinity, you can get up to $500 in rebates for a trade-in when you buy the S22 Plus and the S22 Ultra. (The S22 is currently out of stock.) Just note that newer phones will grab you higher value in rebate credits — for example, you’ll get just over $200 for trading in an S21 with no damage.
