Leo is a film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj starring Dalapathy Vijay as the hero. This movie is released today as a pure action entertainer. And let’s go to the review and find out how much it pleased the audience!
Story:
Parthiban (Vijay) leads a happy life with his wife Satya (Trisha). Parthiban knows no other world except his family and the copy shop he runs. One such Partiban has a heinous criminal record in the past.. He is Leo Das and Antony Das (Sanjay Dutt) comes with his gang. So, who is this Antony Das?, what is his relationship with Parthiban?, who is Leo in real life?, why is this Leo like Parthiban?, how did Parthiban finally save himself and his family?, and is Parthiban – Leo the same?, or not? That is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Vijay acted in two variations according to the circumstances of his character. Especially with his body language, Vijay acted very well in some action and flashback sequences. Sanjay Dutt who played another key role was also the highlight of this movie not only with his acting but also with his looks. And the hero Arjun, who appeared in a key role in the end of the movie, impressed with his wild appearance. Gautham Vasudev Menon’s acting is much better than his previous films in this film.
Trisha as the heroine is pleasing. Even in heavy emotional scenes, she acted very settled and impressive. Mansoor Ali Khan and Miskin as well as the rest of the cast have done well in the scope of their roles. Action episodes and emotional scenes written by director Lokesh Kanakaraj are good. Especially Vijay made this film keeping his fans in mind.
Minus Points:
Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has designed the character of Leo and the flashback of that character Talu, has not written the same level of treatment of Leo in this film. He fails to write a particularly interesting story. Many scenes feel very slow going. Moreover, in the style of his previous films, Lokesh Kanakaraj directed this film with regular play. Apart from some scenes, there is no freshness anywhere. He led the first half fast, but the second half was too long. Except in the climax, the rest of the story failed to increase the curiosity.
Although there is a possibility to make the story more interesting, he ended the movie in his own style. Sanjay Dutt and Arjun, who are the main characters who turn the story around, should have established the old ones even more strongly and ended it effectively. Overall, although there is strong emotion and conflict in this Leo movie, they are not properly established to the extent that the audience gets involved in the conflict.
Technical Department:
Although the director Lokesh Kanakaraj has emotionally directed some scenes, he could not write Leo’s stories in a fully impressive way for the story line taken. The background score in the movie is good. Music director Anirudh Ravichander’s songs are okay. Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is good. Most of the scenes in the movie have been shot very beautifully. When it comes to editing, editor Philomin Raj had to reduce some of the stretched scenes here and there. The producers made this film without any compromise. The production values are very good.
Verdict:
‘Leo’ is a huge action and emotional drama in which Vijay’s performance and action scenes and climax are good. So, even though there is a strong emotion and conflict in the film… in that emotion, in that conflict, the audience is so involved.. They are not exactly establishment. Along with this, interesting elements were missing in the second half. Overall this film will impress only Vijay fans.
